Added Value to the Customer:

· The detailed 3D modeling and work methodology we provide include all the stages and details of the work to help our clients understand and visualize the work processes before starting the actual implementation.

· Safety measures and risk assessment were also provided. Moreover, we strictly follow high safety norms and standards during work operations.

Engineering Concept:

· The TBM Machine is a Tunnel boring machine used here in this project to excavate tunnels for the Metro Line No. 4 in Greater Cairo.

· The machine was lowered in small pieces through a small opening to the bottom of the Metro station (about 35 meters underground), and at this level, the cranes could no longer help the process of assembling the machine parts or sliding it.

· Now, the importance of our Skidding solutions comes to helping our client in all the processes of assembling the machine parts and re-positioning the machine at the zero point or the starting point of excavation.

Fast Track Solution:

v Stages of the skidding and repositioning process of the TBM machine:

Ø Assembly phase: We used a skidding system to help assemble the machine parts.

Ø Lateral movement phase: After we finished the assembly phase, we started the process of lifting the whole machine using the hydraulic jacking system in order to be able to reorient the sliding rails underneath it in the direction perpendicular to the current direction. Then we started the 7.5-meter skid using our special equipment.

Ø Repositioning the machine at zero point stage: The last step of our working process was to ensure that the position of the machine was accurate in both vertical and horizontal directions in relation to the fixed steel ring at the starting point of the tunnel which is the starting point of excavation.

v In fact, it was a very precise process and was carried out with great care and coordination with the client's surveying department and they were checking the points using the Total station devices to ensure the accuracy of the work.

Systems in use:
